The DVF wouldn't be possible without Life is Delicious, a 501(c)(3) non-profit whose mission is to eliminate the cycle of epidemic chronic health conditions and preserve the health of human life by providing nutrition literacy to all people. Their services have enriched, enhanced, and empowered local communities and underserved populations about the many benefits of making healthier food choices.

I started going to Life is Delicious classes two years ago. My cholesterol was through the roof. My doctor said if I didn't increase my medication dosage he was going to put me on an additional medication. I begin to walk but I didn't want to change my diet. Once I came to the realization that diet is a vital piece of the pie too. I was learning all of this in LID classes. Once I made the switch, everything started to change. within 90 days. My weight is down, no more cholesterol meds, and my doctor is asking me what did I do?? I replied, you need to take some Life is Delicious classes. He just smiled!!

I have always been a little overweight because I love to eat. That's no secret. My weight is 220. Since I've been attending the LID sessions, I have learned that a plant-based lifestyle is the best fit for me. I am 72 yrs. old, size 8, and gorgeous. No surgery, diet drinks, and no Ozempic. I am living my best life NOW!

I have been challenged with skin issue since high school and now I'm 35. I never connected it to constipation. My skin was jacked up and my bowels moved every other day. I was addicted to sugar and didn't know it. I didn't eat any fiber because I didn't know that that would help me. My family doctor never mentioned it to me. What he did mention was a stool softener that I had been taking for many years. Then I stated taking Dulcolax, and MiraLax and any other Lax that I could get my hands on. Once I moved away from sweet tea, yummy cereals, chips, tasty cakes, occasional ice cream treats, and ginger-ale, I did notice a difference, not only did my skin clear up due to my fiber intake, but my bowels moved after each meal. If your having a tight time on the potty eat more fiber and your pipes will stay clean.
